Dog Adventures Attends Behavioral Seminar
Over the weekend of September 21st of 2024, myself and a few members of the team traveled our way up New Hampshire to attend a two-day behavioral dog training seminar. This seminar was hosted by Method K9’s Stephanie Vichinsky, who has over 12 year of dog training experience and has rehabilitated hundred of dogs with severe behavioral issues.
Before the massive flow of knowledge began, I (Amanda) Ashley and Juliana first had to make a pitstop to Public Land. Apparently chairs were required to bring and Ashley came prepared, where Juliana and myself were not as prepared. Therefore we needed comfy chairs, and we decided to go with the comfiest rocking, camping chairs, and thankfully we had them for the two day 8hr a day seminar.
We had viewing spots for the seminar, and there were six working spots, all reactive dogs who were sitting in the front of the room. Each were required to wear muzzles as a precaution. She first explained to us the different drive that a dog has: pack, prey, & defense. We were able to observe the behavior of each dog, all with different reactivity and triggers. It was fascinating to see the process Stephanie teaching the owners how to interact with their dogs to create a neutral dog.
